Setting: Every universe has to have a beginning somewhere, and there has to be those who create it for a reason. This is where a game called Sburb comes in, though it's had other names such as Sgrub to those who think that Sburb sounds stupid. A game that requires a minimum of two players, one of Time and one of Space, that's made for children to play. Sburb gives those children a reason to create a new universe by destroying the planet on which they live. Skaia, Derse and Prospit are the main planets inside the game, known as the Medium, and each game session is different for every group who plays it. For each child that enters not only gets a special title and aspect but also their own planet to grow and explore on.
But not just any children, these are children created to play the game. Not just because of self fulfilling prophecies but because due to a process called ecto biology these children are made from ecto slime of combined or cloned DNA and sent back in time on meteors to their respective time periods and planets.
The first ones to play the game were the Beforean trolls, but they were unable to complete the game and made a deal that allowed them to "scratch" or reset their session. But not just the session, but their entire game. They lost their chance, now it was the next generations chance. Or as it goes, the last. For their positions were switched by switching the timelines where the meteor with their baby selves were sent, the children's ancestors in the new world became the new Alpha children and the Beta children became the Alpha ancestors. In this new world, the Alternian troll children played the game and won. Their prize for winning was the creation of another universe, one which they would never get the chance to enter because of foul circumstances.
The universe the troll children created is where Earth is, and where the next group of children were set to play the game. Only instead of the 12 that the trolls had, they only had a group of four to go with. And, just like the Beta Beforean trolls, circumstances caused the Beta children to fail as well and they also had to initiate the scratch to reset their game and their universe. Only unlike the Beforean trolls, these children found a way to join up with the remaining Alternian trolls and escape being erased by the Scratch alive. Their goal was to join the new Alpha session, break the rules and help the new session with the powers they had gained in their own session.
And this is where Dirk Strider comes in, a player from this new Alpha session created by the first group of kids failing their first attempt at the game. The original group before him consisted of Dave Strider the Knight of Time, Rose Lalonde the Seer of Light, John Egbert the Heir of Breath and Jade Harley the Witch of Space. In the first (Beta) universe, the children's guardians were Bro Strider, Mom Lalonde, Nanna Egbert and Grandpa Harley. With their timelines being switched as the universe reset, the new group of players were the ones who were guardians before. Instead of Bro, Mom, Nanna and Grandpa there are the four teenagers Dirk Strider the Prince of Heart, Roxy Lalonde the Rogue of Void, Jane Crocker the Maid of Life and Jake English the Page of Hope. Respectively, the ones who were the children the first time around took the place of the guardians in the second (Alpha) universe.
Dirk's world in particular is different than most others as unlike the ones who were sent to the time period to be with their guardians, him and Roxy were sent 400 years into the future where the world had been taken over by Betty Crocker who was really the Her Imperious Condescension, the empress of the Alternian trolls who'd lost her race and took over Earth while attempting to genetically change humans to be more like trolls. Both Dirk's Bro and Roxy's Mom died in the early days of the take over with the Batter Witch first showed herself for what she really was, Dirk and Roxy's presence in the future ensured their relative safety despite being the only two humans left alive and the entire world was flooded by the melting of the polar ice caps. The only problem was their distance apart, specifically where Texas and New York used to be, causing Dirk to grow up in an apartment that somehow survived despite the rest of the building being nothing but metal framework underwater.
The main way that all of the children who play the game communicate is through a program called Pesterchum, or one known as Trollian as the trolls use. It not only allows multi-dimensional communication but in several cases even allows others to talk to each other through different points in time. Some timelines can be chosen, like the trolls using Trollian to pick out what specific point they want to chose from, while other's despite the difference are always synced up exactly. Jake and Jane would have never even known Dirk and Roxy were from hundreds of years into their future if their friends hadn't told them. Other than the chat clients, the rest of the technology is also advanced, teleportation devices that go through universes and some even time with most of the running on Uranium. And even things as simple as a random wadrobefier that changes their clothing instantaneously for them or a special storage device which stores items on cards and seems to appear out of thin air whenever they wish to open it to get items out.
As mentioned before, once they enter the game and are inside the Medium not only are there Skaia, Derse and Prospit but also each player gets their own planet. Land of Tombs and Krypton was Dirk's, a planet filled with deadly gas the further you explore into it and large towering tombs that resembled sky scrapers. The planets in most sessions have what're known as consorts and denizens, the consorts being the people who inhabit the planet (usually a type of strange animal like red crocodiles, pink turtles or yellow salamanders that all walk upright like people) and the denizen is a giant creature which can either battle the player or give them The Choice which differs depending on the player themselves. But in the Alpha session, it seemed like all of the consorts had already died out and they only had their cryptic books and ruins to go by to figure out what was going on in their session.
The only thing they knew is that they had to get by with what they could, exploring the planets for quests and treasures that may be hidden while awaiting the arrival of the Heroes.
Trolls in these universes are an alien race from another universe, the main ones we come to know being from the planet Alternia which has two moons. They're a nocturnal species that share a lot of similarities to humans, mostly in shape in appearance with the only major differences being their grey skin, yellow eyes, horns, yellow nails and fangs. Internal wise, they possess twelve different official blood colors and one known mutation color which on Alternia decides their position in life wealth wise. Those of Fuchsia, violet, indigo, navy and cerulean are considered to be Highbloods. Teal, jade, lime and olive are the mid-bloods and yellow, brown and maroon are the lowbloods with bright red being a rare mutation. The two highest of fuchsia and violet are a separate species of troll known as sea dwellers, they're the royalty who live primarily in the ocean. The higher ones blood is, not only the higher their position in society but the longer their lifespan with the Empress living millions of years. Each troll also has their own unique sign that's generally related to their color, the troll zodiac is said to have 48 signs in all though only fourteen are seen.
The twelve original trolls who play Sgrub consist of one of each blood color, only instead of having a lime blood their leader is mutant red. They were the ones to play the game and as of yet the only ones known to successfully beat the game and create a new universe. As a sign that they were the ones who created it, their twelve signs were put in the stars around their new universe. Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces are the ones shown to represent each of them.
However it's also shown that there were another group of trolls before them from a planet called Beforus. These trolls were the exact same in every way as a whole, only with the major difference being how they handled the blood differences. While Alternian trolls were violent and cruel by nature, killing anyone below them as they saw fit, the Beforean trolls were peaceful and helpful to one another, taking in lower blooded trolls and pampering and guarding them as necessary. These were the ones who played the game first, and as they were too weak and soft to be able to beat it they scratched their session and reset it and the Alternian trolls were given the chance to play. The "Before Us" and "Alternate" hints at the names of the planets was apparently intentional as one of the trolls from Alternia catches onto the pun and mocks it for being ridiculous.
While the Beforeus trolls are all dead, it's the Alternian trolls who beat the game who contact the humans and help them through theirs. They weren't even aware that they had created a new life until a time loop completes itself (One of the trolls from the future telling one of the humans to send money to her in the past so the transfer can be traced by their hacker to discover the humans in the first place) and at which point they use Trollian to watch all the events up to the point of the Scratch of the human session unfold. They troll them backwards through the timeline due to a rather embarrassing first conversation, so the earlier it is for the kids the more the trolls know about them while the later it is for the kids the less and less some of the trolls know them. At one point they stop the bullshit time shenanigans and start having more linear conversations because it was just getting ridiculous and confusing.
In the game they have a specific type of leveling system known as the Echeladder, for every achievement they make they can gain experience to go up in their rungs. Be it from fighting imps or even completely certain tasks and achievements. Every player gets their own special rung, though some of them have them the same such as John and Tavros both having Boy Skylark on theirs. Higher levels mean higher payouts with experience and sometimes even special upgrades such as the Gift of Gab, which was a way of saying instead of using chat clients to speak to each other they started talking face to face. The highest level is God Tier, which can be obtained in two different methods. The first is for a player to find their quest bed on their planet and die on it, though it's been shown that if it's soon after death, the dead body can be placed on the quest bed to have the same effect. The body stays on the quest bed while their dream self awakens on Skaia in it's God Tier form. If one doesn't have a dream self any longer due to already using it as a spare life, there's also quest slabs inside their respective moons of Derse or Prospit. They simply have to go deep inside the moon and find their quest slab and die on it that way, and they're revived right there on the spot as God Tier.
As a God Tier, they gain full realization of their abilities and also a selective immortality. Selective because there's still two ways they can die. If their death is heroic or just, such as dying a hero's death or for a just reason, then they die for good. But if the death is pointless, then after a short period of time they'll revive on the spot good as new.
Personality: Dirk's the coolest bro anyone could ever know, the ultimate badass who can't be phased by anything and takes every problem in stride without even breaking a sweat. At least, that's what he wants people to believe. There's really much more to him than that, an entire mess of teenage problems beneath the persona of cool he tries to put out. Because that's all he really is deep down, a teenager with enough issues to keep a psychologist busy for weeks. Years if he would have anything to say about it as it'd be a case of mind games and question dodging to avoid facing what he already knows is there. Because if anything, Dirk is more self aware than most people and fully recognizes most of his fears and faults along with the aspects of himself that most people wouldn't want to admit about themselves. He's also pretty chill and laid back most of the time, keeping all of his personal problems to himself.
Control issues is a big thing with him, he views himself as the puppet master who'd always be behind the scenes pulling all the strings and setting things into place. While they may have a leader, he would assume he'd be the real leader controlling everything with little to no effort. He never knows when to stop trying to control a situation, overworking himself to dangerous levels where even his AI self has to frequently remind him that he's only human and has to damn near beg him in his own way to allow him to actually help. His mind is focused and sharp when he needs it to be, able to keep two separate bodies in two separate worlds functioning and awake at all times. He claims to do this effortlessly, but in all actuality he's been known to space out in one body while he's distracted and really working on things in the other. He eventually gives a little on the stance, allowing his AI self to assist in his tasks at the bare minimum while he lets himself fully focus on other problems. But it wasn't without seriously strain and someone just as stubborn as him giving him hell until he agreed to let up a little of his control.
Not just with himself, but with his friends as well. He tries to pull things to go as he wants them to and even uses his words and other means at times to push and control their actions and beliefs as best he can. Never maliciously, he always tries to have their best interest in mind. But he just assumes that he knows what's best and while he tries to look out for them it can sometimes come off as borderline insane. Like with Jake whom he was rather in love with, he sent him a robot to fight that would beat the ever loving shit out of him effortlessly even on Novice mode, making Jake be paranoid and always having to watch his back on an island that was already dangerous as hell. It was an effort to train him to make him stronger and more aware of things around him. He uses his words in much the same manner, trying to push people into being what he believes they should be for the best and using elaborate methods to pull this off if he sees necessary.
As it's shown with his ability to control multiple bodies at once, Dirk's extremely strong willed. It takes a lot to break him, and sometimes even that seems impossible unless there's drastic circumstances thrown at him. The only time he seriously broke his cool was when all of his friends were mentally and physically altered to be deranged copies of themselves that were near psychotic happy and under the impression a magic candy that transformed them would make all of their problems go away. Dirk flipped out, stating that he was too fucking cool for this while acting exceedingly uncool and looking as if he was about to have a panic attack. They were his friends and he couldn't hurt them or do anything to stop them from infecting him as well, his cool only returning when he was convinced to say fuck it and give in. While it worked on all three of the others, even when Dirk had been infected with the sickening Trickster mode, he stayed his usual self and was not having any of that bullshit. His outward appearance changed, but his exact thoughts on the matter were "Hell no." and "Fuck this." Unlike the others who were delusional to believe it would solve all of their problems, he was firm on the fact that you can't just magically make your problems disappear, you actually have to talk them out or face them head on to deal with them.
Dirk's a genius and he loves to flaunt this fact as much as possible when given the chance. His biggest accomplishments are his robots, most of which have simple to elaborate AI's and multiple capacities. Some of which he sends to his friends, like Lil' Seb the bunny to protect Jane and Brobot tobeat the shit out of be a sparring partner for Jake. Despite how highly he holds himself, he's very loyal and caring to his friends and would do anything for them. Literally anything. This is a boy who made an elaborate scheme in the span of seconds to cross multiple worlds and time periods to save the lives of his three friends. A scheme which involved severing his own head to send it back in time to Jake and trusted his AI to be able to talk Jake into kissing it so he could revive in his other body and put the rest of his plan into motion. And he pulled it off flawlessly, even having the confidence to do some sweet tricks on his rocketboard and give a passing fish girl a high five. As he grew up alone with only an AI clone of himself to talk to (the specific reason he made him was because he was lonely and wanted someone as intelligent as himself to converse with) his three friends mean more to him than anything. He even states he'd rather run a sword through his own dick before he'd be able to kill one of them even if it was for her own good.
All in all, Dirk's always the guy who's got his shit together and making the plans to get shit done. Being told that he's in a world between life, dreaming and death wouldn't even phase him on the outside, he'd take it in calculations and facts and try to discover the reasoning behind it. Not directly as he's smart enough to figure a direct approach wouldn't be the best choice, but subtly so others wouldn't be able to directly guess what he was getting at and trying to find. He'd want a way back home, but wouldn't push the issue beyond what he believed he'd be able to get away with without causing too much trouble. Laying low is how he prefers to go about big things, always waiting and planning before making his move. So while home will be his number one priority, he won't rush it as that could only lead to complications that could postpone it for even longer.
Appearance: 1 2 3
Abilities: Dirk's a genius when it comes to computer programs and robotics, not only building robots in his spare time but also going as far as at the age of 13 creating an AI that was a mental clone of himself and implementing it into a computer system in his shades as a self learning entity with the ability to learn and grow like a normal person. His other robots vary in function, from advanced sentient ones like Brobot who was made with two difficulty settings for giving Jake someone to keep him on his toes, to Squarewave who was a simple rapbot and Sawtooth who was an unbeatable rapbot who also was equipped with dangerous weapons and fighting knowledge, to all out brainless fighting robots who were only programmed to be set on kill mode and fight Dirk so he could destroy them.
Which shows a glimpse of his fighting ability as he trained himself using such drastic methods. Though his main weapon is a katana, he can also fight with a fancy Santa doll or puppets if he really feels like humiliating someone. Another thing is his speed which is far beyond that of what most people would consider normal.
His title in Sburb is the Prince of Heart which translates into Destroyer of Souls. The main ability we've seen shown with this are he has fragments of his soul which act as full entities of their own that he calls splinters. From the AI he made to his dreamself and even a version of himself that's only in Jake's dreams who stays behind even after Jake wakes up, every part of himself is connected in some way.
Inventory: x Sylladex - A special inventory system used to carry all of his items and weapon
x Unreakable Katana - Supposedly one of the seven legendary weapons of folklore. Said to be forged by a Japanese master over the heat of a roaring manga fire and cooled in an enchanted spring where virgin horses bathe. Though it really has no other special properties at all aside from being a badass katana.
x Batman utility belt - Nothing special in or about it, it's just there to look cool. It has a few compartments to hold small things, but they're all empty.
x Gas mask
x Shades - Pointed sunglasses that double as a computer, the desktop background is shown on the inside of the shades with access to regular computer programs and files, web browser and chat client. It's entirely hands free, controlled just by Dirk thinking what he wants to do or type. Shown Here
x Bottles of various orange soda brands
x Rocketboard
x Smuppets - plush dolls with phallic noses and bulbous asses
x Sweet Bro & Hella Jeff plushes
x Uranium
x tools for working on robotics
Suite: Metal sector, 2 floor. Dirk's hobbies revolve around building robots and AIs, and even building said robots so he can fight them to help himself train. 2 floors would give him space to live in and a space to work and train in.
In-Character Samples:
Third Person: Trapped they said, refusal to elaborate on why or if there was any other way back home. If it weren't for the friendly nature of them and the elaborate accommodations they gave without hesitance then Dirk would be more than a little pissed off at the situation he was thrown into. As it was, he wasn't foolish enough to think that there was anything he could do as things stood. At least not without the proper knowledge of Tu Vishan and others who've been brought here like him. In between life, death and dreaming? He'd experienced the pains of death before and the strangeness that came with the dream bubbles and going through the Void, but this was something else entirely new. He felt strange, whole almost, like his splinters had been melded together and his mind only had one focus point instead of many for the time being. Even AR seemed to be off his shades, a fact that was as much of a relief as it was highly concerning. It meant he was alone, trapped and alone in a strange world with no hope of getting home.
And thinking of hope only made him think of one of the reasons why he had to get back. Not only Jake, but for Jane and Roxy too. While there hadn't been much going on aside from treasure hunts and exploration of their planets his friends would still be worried about him if he were to just disappear. He'd picked up what he could from the conversations as he was brought to this new home, bigger even than what he was used to back in his apartment, enough to get a general idea of this city's layout. They didn't have any useful information but any small bit was useful to someone who knew how to use it the right way.
Once he'd mapped out his new home and made sure there was nothing suspicious hidden within the walls, at least nothing he could detect, he'd sat at his console and observed just what was going on with this network of other prisoners. Their cells were elaborate and the exercise field was large and full of everything one would need to imitate a normal life but in the end they were being held against their will and expected to behave. It was interesting to see so many people interacting, some frustrated and some who seemed to have taken it much better than others had. Nothing overly useful as of yet and he knew he couldn't simply throw out a "Hey who has any ideas on how the fuck to get out of here" because that was far too broad of a question and in addition to that if the people were half as intelligent as they seem he wouldn't be the first one to pose it. No, he needed information another way. A way to find out if there was a pattern, if there was a reason all of them were brought here. Something to link them together, maybe something they had in common or a group of skills that would be of use for a bigger picture.

Skipping the bullshit and heading right into the formalities here.
Fresh fish stepping up to the bars of this prison to say while it's an inconvenience to be here we could always take this as a chance to expand on our knowledge of other cultures and worlds, hell maybe even other species as there's no limit to the possibilities before us.
So yo, what's up?
Name's Di-Stri and I build sweetass bots in my spare time.
You provide materials and I might be able to work something out for anyone who's interested, anything from something to keep you company to a full on death battle bot to fight with.
Artificial intelligence included might cost a bit more than me simply being bored as it takes up more time and effort and such a delicate technology has to be handled with care on a case by case basis.
What about the rest of you?
Any special sets of skills, hobbies or even traditions you liked to indulge in back in your worlds?

Some of which he sends to his friends, like Lil' Seb the bunny to protect Jane and Brobot to
All in all, Dirk's always the guy who's got his shit together and making the plans to get shit done.
