[Name]: Dirk Strider
[Canon]: Homestuck
[Age]: 16
[Gender]: Male
[Canon Point]: A6A6I1, after trying to talk to Dave
[History]: Here
[Personality]: Dirk's the coolest bro anyone could ever know, the ultimate badass who acts like he can't be phased by anything and takes every problem in stride without even breaking a sweat. At least, that's what he wants people to believe. There's really much more to him than that, an entire mess of teenage problems beneath the persona of cool he tries so hard to put out. Because that's all he really is deep down, a teenager with enough issues to keep a psychologist busy for weeks. Years if he would have anything to say about it as it'd be a case of mind games and question dodging to avoid facing what he already knows is there. Because if anything, Dirk is more self aware than most people and fully recognizes most of his fears and faults along with the aspects of himself that most people wouldn't want to admit about themselves. He's pretty chill and laid back most of the time, keeping all of his personal problems to himself even as they grow and fester.
Control issues is a big thing with him, he views himself as the puppet master who'd always be behind the scenes pulling all the strings and setting things into place. While they may have a leader, he would assume he'd be the real leader controlling everything with little to no effort. He never knows when to stop trying to control a situation, overworking himself to dangerous levels where even his AI self has to frequently remind him that he's only human and has to damn near beg him in his own way to allow him to actually help. His mind is focused and sharp when he needs it to be, able to keep two separate bodies in two separate worlds functioning and awake at all times. He claims to do this effortlessly, but in all actuality he's been known to space out in one body while he's distracted and really working on things in the other. He eventually gives a little on the stance, allowing his AI self to assist in his tasks at the bare minimum while he lets himself fully focus on other problems. But it wasn't without seriously strain and someone just as stubborn as him giving him hell until he agreed to let up a little of his control.
But it's not just with himself, but with his friends as well. He tries to pull things to go as he wants them to and even uses his words and other means at times to push and control their actions and beliefs as best he can. Never maliciously, he always tries to have their best interest in mind. But he just assumes that he knows what's best and while he tries to look out for them it can sometimes come off as borderline insane and overbearing. Like with Jake whom he was rather in love with, he sent him a robot to fight that would beat the ever loving shit out of him effortlessly even on Novice mode, making Jake be paranoid and always having to watch his back on an island that was already dangerous as hell. It was an effort to train him to make him stronger and more aware of things around him. He uses his words in much the same manner, trying to push people into being what he believes they should be for the best and using elaborate methods to pull this off if he sees necessary.
Dirk's a genius and he loves to flaunt this fact as much as possible when given the chance. His biggest accomplishments are his robots, most of which have simple to elaborate AI's and multiple capacities. Some of which he sends to his friends, like Lil' Seb the bunny to protect Jane and Brobot to
However, being a self aware genius has it's down sides. No one knows Dirk better than Dirk knows himself, and while everyone else's views on him are always positive (the cool kid, best bro, most caring and loyal friend), he has a very dark and bitter internal outlook. He hates himself more than anything, seeing how much of an overbearing thoughtless, control freak prick he really is. His realization of this is mostly thanks to watching the antics of his AI who was programmed to be exactly like him and it doesn't take him long to get sick of himself. He starts to hate himself more and more as even when he tries to cut himself some slack and back off, the splinters of himself always pick up the slack and keep throwing his own twisted personality in his face until he's sick of it to the point of wanting to kill his AI just so he doesn't have to deal with another part of himself in his face anymore. Of course he decides against it when AR begs him not to kill him, but it doesn't change the fact of how much Dirk hates himself and blames himself for all of his fuckups and ruined relationships.
Dirk's also extremely strong willed, as it's shown with his ability to control multiple bodies at once. It takes a lot to break him, and sometimes even that seems impossible unless there's drastic circumstances thrown at him. The only time he seriously broke his cool was when all of his friends were mentally and physically altered to be deranged copies of themselves that were near psychotic happy and under the impression a magic candy that transformed them would make all of their problems go away. Dirk flipped out, stating that he was too fucking cool for this while acting exceedingly uncool and looking as if he was about to have a panic attack. They were his friends and he couldn't hurt them or do anything to stop them from infecting him as well, his cool only returning when he was convinced to say fuck it and give in. While it worked on all three of the others, even when Dirk had been infected with the sickening Trickster mode, he stayed his usual self and was not having any of that bullshit. His outward appearance changed, but his exact thoughts on the matter were "Hell no." and "Fuck this." Unlike the others who were delusional to believe it would solve all of their problems, he was firm on the fact that you can't just magically make your problems disappear, you actually have to talk them out or face them head on to deal with them.
[Abilities / Strengths & Weaknesses]:
Abilities:
-Prince of Heart: The main ability we've seen shown with this are he has fragments of his soul which act as full entities of their own that he calls splinters. From the AI he made to his dreamself and even a version of himself that's only in Jake's dreams/mind who stays behind even after Jake wakes up and even takes tangible form a second time with enough Hope power, every part of himself is connected in some way. And of course, with the more literal translation of his title being 'Destroyer of Souls', Dirk also has the ability to rip someone's soul out of their body and destroy it.
-Godtier: As a Godtier, Dirk has the ability to fly by default. It also grants him a conditional sort of immortality. The only way a god tier can die is if the death is just or heroic, if the death is neither and considered pointless then it takes only a couple minutes for him to revive on the spot good as new.
-Strife specibus: While most people have one, sometimes two, methods of fighting, Dirk has three. He can fight using his sword, puppets, or even a fancy Santa doll.
Strengths: Dirk's a genius when it comes to computer programs and robotics, not only building robots in his spare time but also going as far as at the age of 13 creating an AI that was a mental clone of himself and implementing it into a computer system in his shades as a self learning entity with the ability to learn and grow like a normal person. His other robots vary in function, from advanced sentient ones like Brobot who was made with two difficulty settings for giving Jake someone to keep him on his toes, to Squarewave who was a simple rapbot and Sawtooth who was an unbeatable rapbot who also was equipped with dangerous weapons and fighting knowledge, to all out brainless fighting robots who were only programmed to be set on kill mode and fight Dirk so he could destroy them.
He's also loyal to fault and wouldn't even hesitate to sacrifice his own well being if it meant keeping those close to him safe. He's quick to come up with elaborate and complicated plans on the spot and not letting anything stop him from following through with them.
Weaknesses: Dirk's biggest weaknesses are his control issues and how much he hates himself. He tries to be in charge of everything, assuming himself a puppet master who always has to be pulling the strings behind the scenes even when he himself realizes that things don't always go as planned. He plans everything far too much, to the point where sometimes it takes forever for things to get done. And as the Prince of Heart he has splinters of himself that show him how he acts toward other people and in seeing that realizes how much he hates himself and even when he tries to back off, one of his splinters picks up the slack and makes him hate himself even more for his overly controlling and sometimes smothering behavior.
[Limited Powers]: Dirk's ability to fly would obviously be limited. After a certain time in the air he'll find himself feeling very sick very quickly, making him unable to fly any further than three or five miles over open water. Going with sickness instead of just tiredness/inability to be sure Dirk's not tempted to try and push himself further and just swim the rest of the way. As for his soul destroying power, he doesn't like having to use it unless there's no other option anyway, so it won't be a problem.
[Other Important Facts]: As Dirk is an inventor and has lived in a tiny apartment in the middle of the ocean his entire life, I'm assuming he has a mask that lets him breath underwater as he's explored the underwater ruins of Houston, TX to raid his bro's museum before. This of course isn't able to be used for long distances since there's a time limit on it, so there's no worry of it being used to go from island to island, just most likely for under the ship exploration/repairs.
Also! A question about "familiars". Would Dirk's two rapbots Sawtooth and Squarewave be able to be counted as such so they could arrive with him?

Let me see if I got this shit straight here. We're brought here by some asshole and we're stuck until we can find the
Am I the only one who finds this all annoyingly cliche? This is the part where someone would bitch and moan about having better things to be doing back home, but complaining isn't going to be getting anyone anywhere.
So here's the deal. I'm getting my own ship and setting sail on this bitch, anyone around port up to joining me? Yes, that would make me the Captain and that's non-negotiable. I don't care how much or how little experience you have so long as you want to find this gem as much as I do. What we don't know we can easily learn, so the only problem will be if you're a fucking douchebag who doesn't know how to take sensible orders. I know there's going to be some trust issues here, but the more people go off on their own the less likely it'll be to gather as many shards as possible. It's not like we have much of a fucking say in the matter, so anyone up for it?
And for those of you who've been here longer, any information on any progress that's been made would be appreciated.
